Operation Byte Back
An initiative led by ETHOS Search Ops. Team, Operation Byte Back deploys electronic detection K9s to locate hidden digital storage devices - tools often used to conceal evidence of exploitation, abuse, or trafficking. These dogs, trained with precision and purpose, serve as silent sentinels in the fight for child protection and digital accountability.
Operation Byte Back is more than detection. It is a layered response:
Electronic Storage Device Detection K9s
These highly trained dogs locate USB drives, SD cards, cell phones, and other devices—often hidden in walls, vehicles, or remote terrain. Their work supports law enforcement, child advocacy centers, and trauma recovery teams by surfacing evidence that might otherwise remain buried.
Safety Education & Prevention
Byte Back includes outreach to both juveniles and adults - offering digital safety workshops, trauma-informed training, and prevention strategies that empower communities to recognize, report, and resist exploitation.
Digital Curriculum: Teach youth how digital footprints work - how data travels, how devices store information, and how Karma’s nose translates scent into justice.
Aligned with Project Hero Hugs
For children caught in the crossfire, Byte Back reinforces ETHOS’s commitment to dignity and healing. Whether through comfort kits, K9 meet-and-greets - this initiative ensures that protection is paired with compassion.
Canine Advocacy Ambassadors
Position support friendly K9 as living metaphors for resilience - offering school visits, trauma-informed storytelling, and tactile comfort for survivors.
