Search Incident Guidance

ETHOS provides both strategic and tactical search planning, support, and operations for AHJs. Our trained, experienced, and certified search planners and managers are an effective resource to law enforcement, fire, and EMA agencies, and our teams provide an integrated support function to AHJs to support in locating lost, missing, and endangered individuals.

Ground Search

​ETHOS’s ground search technicians are trained and experienced in ground search techniques, including evidence, rapid, area, and wide search techniques. Our teams use the latest technology, including real-time, aerial/satellite, and LIDAR maps to provide key insights into search areas, and combined with the use of Lost Person Behavior statistics, real-time voice and data communication, and experienced field technicians, our teams provide critical support to AHJ in ground search. Our search technicians are certified to ASTM 2209 and NASAR SARTECH standards.

K9 Resources

ETHOS’s K9s and handlers provide AHJs with Trailing, Electronics Detection and HRD K9 teams that are trained and experienced in operating in varied terrain and settings, including wilderness, urban, evidence, and disaster response settings. Both K9s and handlers are trained, experienced, and certified by various entities, including IPWDA, AWD

Aerial Reconnaissance

ETHOS’s FAA-licensed remote pilots use modern drones with high resolution video and photography capabilities to obtain imagery of areas for analysis. Our pilots and support personnel are qualified and experienced in image interpretation, and provide key support in searching large areas.

Rope Operations

ETHOS’s rope operations team is trained and qualified to NFPA 1006 standards for rope rescue operations. The team, composed of rope rescue operations and technician-level certified personnel, are capable of both low and high-angle operations in both remote and urban settings.

Disaster Aid

ETHOS’s personnel are able to assist AHJs in the aftermath of tornado's, floods, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. The team is trained to operate within the NIMS framework and seamlessly integrates into incident command structures of varying complexity and scale.

Education

Education on search and rescue (SAR) and missing persons focuses on equipping the public with essential knowledge to prevent incidents, raise awareness, and promote preparedness. Through engaging presentations, informational materials, and community outreach, we highlight the importance of safety practices, recognizing early warning signs, and understanding effective response strategies. This education empowers individuals to contribute to safer environments and fosters collaboration in supporting search and rescue efforts.
